The AHLEI Hotel Management Diploma is an intensive management course studied over 24 months. Subject to satisfactory completion of the Program, students without suitable previous employment experience in the hospitality industry may opt for 6 month internship in a leading hospitality company in Bahrain or elsewhere.
To qualify for entry to the AHLEI Diploma you should be a high school graduate, at least 18 years of age, who can demonstrate certified competence in the English language. The two year AHLEI Diploma in Hotel Management is modular in nature. This means that joining the Diploma is possible at a number of different points throughout the year – there are intakes nearly every three months. Students study 12 AHLEI modules during the year. These modules cover all the main subject areas required for an international hospitality manager including:
BIHR has extensive links with hospitality industry employers throughout Bahrain. Hotels placing our students include The Ritz Carlton; Crowne Plaza; Gulf Hotel; Sheraton Hotel; The Diplomat Radisson SAS; The Regency Inter-Continental; and Movenpick. Chain restaurants are well-represented in Bahrain and students interested in this field have undertaken internships at Chillis, Bennigans, Fuddruckers, McDonald’s, Domino’s Pizza, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Pizza Hut, Costa, Starbucks and Baskin Robbins.
Students who successfully complete 12 designated modules receive 12 individual AHLEI certificates (one for each AHLEI subject), 1 AHLEI Diploma in Hotel Management, transcripts of achievement and a Certificate of Attendance from BIHR.
Certificates earned for each AHLEI module are qualifications in their own right and fully transferable.
