Founded in 1999, BIHR is a private college committed to meeting the needs of the hospitality and tourism industry by providing highly trained individuals to deliver benchmark standards of managerial competence in hospitality management. BIHR was the first private training and education provider in the Gulf to obtain the prestigious ISO 9000 (2001) quality assurance certification. It presently has sister colleges in Saudi Arabia with other partners in India, Oman and Pakistan.

Our Campus.

The BIHR campus is in a pleasant western suburb of the capital city, Manama, and has all the facilities one would expect of an international hotel school, including training kitchens and restaurants, a front office and housekeeping laboratory, a resource centre and state of the art information technology including campus-wide wireless facilities. BIHR’s ethos is to focus on the whole person, seeking to stimulate his or her passion, and imparting skills and qualities essential to success in senior management positions in the international hospitality industry. BIHR offers a caring and supportive learning environment; small classes; highly individual attention to students by experienced faculty; high quality internships; and excellent contacts with global hospitality companies.

Academic staff who contribute to the program

There is diversity in faculty composition in terms of educational background, specialization. The faculty members of the program have wide-range of academic background. Also, they have various professional hospitality certifications, and robust market and industrial exposure and expertise. There is a continuous faculty development plan which includes in-house training, international conferences, technical training and active participation to professional organizations. Many professional activities have been conducted for SY 2014-15 allowing almost all faculty members to participate in different activities.

BIHR provides the required facilities such as classrooms and associated equipment, offices and laboratories used to support the effective delivery of Hospitality and Retail courses in order to ensure the achievement of the program aims and outcomes.


The campus is Wi-Fi-enabled. There are 18 classrooms allotted for teaching. Classrooms are well-lighted, ventilated, and spacious with comfortable chairs and are in general having multi-media projectors and inbuilt sound system. One rooms are equipped with Smart Board which contribute to the overall conducive condition of the teaching-learning environment.


The campus is also designed with a fully functional coffee shop, with the latest equipment as found in any Franchised Coffee Shop. In addition the campus has a demo Hotel room, Front office laboratory and a retail laboratory to give the student a complete feel on the industry.


The computer laboratory has 25 computer units which have internet connections that can be used for either practical course delivery, student free work and to access e-learning resources.


BIHR has an open laboratory available from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, for students. All the laboratories are equipped with licensed software.


The library provides adequate and up- to-date books, journals, magazines and reference for courses which are available for in-house reading and on loan. The books are available in multiple copies to allow students to borrow copies for off-site use.


TBIHR provides additional facilities, such as: prayer rooms, student lounge and cafeteria. Faculty members are also provided with individual workspace and consultation rooms.

BIHR is the largest private training institute in Bahrain with 24 state of the art classrooms, 8 labs with a capacity of 600 students at one time, ample parking spaces, resource centre, restaurant, coffee shop and prayer rooms.


In 2009 BIHR opened the National Academy for Higher Training (NAHT), in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have trained more than 2500 students till date.


Partnered in 2001 with American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), USA, the largest hospitality institute in the world, to provide hospitality professionals with education and training.


In 2011 BIHR joined hands with The Australian Retailers Association (ARA). The Association provides services and support to retailers, including small to medium enterprises and large national chains.


BIHR has created history in Bahrain by becoming the first institute to partner with the Swiss Hospitality & Tourism Management Institute (HTMi) in 2013. This partnership with HTMi will provide students with the best quality of Swiss hospitality education system in Bahrain.
